An Antidote to Anger

Recently, I am easily vexed by minor circumstances that is out of my control- say, the morning traffic, the weather and sometimes even the food stains on my Ralph Lauren red office coat. Seems petty but you can never say that what you are feeling is invalid. So recently, I pondered upon this topic because it’s like this, every single day and my journal is filled with the negative events of yesterday and “yester-month.” If you are also feeling like this, I totally understand where you are coming from.

I had this epiphany while driving that maybe life is teaching me a lesson and I am just too stubborn to notice and actually face it. There is nothing in our circumstances that we can control- plans get ruined, the perfect dates never happen and good days don’t just tend to exist every day. The only thing that we have a say on is my response to all of these minor inconveniences. That’s what maybe life is telling me all along. So, as Ariana put it.

Thank. You. Next.

I am letting go of all control to situations I can’t do anything about. But, if there is anything or at least something that I can do, then by all means I will try to do something.

In the end, life will always win because all of us will go to our death bed, but it doesn’t mean that we can’t make the most of what we have right now. What a b*tch, right? So from now on, all we have to do is go with the flow so we too can win, together with life.

Until you read from me again.
